James Naismith invented basketlball but the aztecas played a varian of basketball.
He invented it in 1850 or 1852, Frist it wasn't very popular but aproximatedly 30 years ago it was very popular and now too.
There are many competitons for exemple NBA, ACB and a lot, There are international competiton and nationals ones.
My favorite team is the lakers because there is a catalan in it and kobe bryant is the best, They won once the NBA league and 3 playoff, The players wear shorts and a short shirt and there are players who wear pads and elbows.There aren't many specific words.

Block: one player blocks the defender, because the player has the ball can shoot

Smash: The player shoots the ball strongly, and he hung.
